SOLD OUT The Judgment of Ocala Wine and Tapas Event

January 25, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

STAY TUNED FOR OUR NEXT PAIRING EVENT ON WED 2/15: “HE SAID BEER/HE SAID WINE”…this event will be designed to answer the age-old question, “what pairs better with food: beer or wine?” The event will feature a beer expert verus a wine expert who will pair their recommendations with another round of Chef Victor’s delicious creations.
Our January headline event will be a delicious wine blind-tasting proposed by Craft Cuisine representing the USA with the support of La Cuisine French representing France. Four wines paired with four delicious courses prepared by Chef Victor Luzzaraga. Un-four-gettable fun for everyone lucky enough to get a ticket!
La Cuisine French Restaurant, Ocala, FL and Craft Cuisine Ocala restaurants in Ocala, Florida, will recreate a portion of the famed “Judgment of Paris” blind wine-tasting competition at a wine-and-food pairing event to be held at Craft Cuisine.
The event will invite central Florida diners to be judges and blind taste four wines: two whites and two reds, along with a series of complementary foods. But the first half of the tasting will be more than a taste test, it will be a competition between one of the most famous old-world styles of wine (selected by La Cuisine) and an American new-world alternative (selected by Craft Cuisine).
“We think this should be fun,” said Elodie Perron, co-owner of La Cuisine. “[My husband and co-owner] Patrice and I are up for the challenge!”
Attendees will taste each of the four wines alone and then paired with an appropriate small-plate (tapas) dish, prepared by Victor Luzzaraga, executive chef for Craft Cuisine. But while the foodie-friendly menu will be expertly prepared, attendees needn’t be wine experts to enjoy the thrill of the competition. It’s all about the personal experience of the people in attendance.
Will France or America win the day in the Judgement of Ocala? Only time (and taste buds) will tell.
